Chapter 7

Matt. 7:1 Judge not, that you be not judged.

Matt. 7:2 Therefore in that judgment you are judging, you will be judged: and with what measure you measure out, it will be measured back to you again.

Matt. 7:3 Why do you behold the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but consider not the plank that is in your own eye?

Matt. 7:4 Or how will you say to your brother, let me cast out the speck out of your eye; and behold, a plank is in your own eye?

Matt. 7:5 You hypocrite, first cast out the plank out of your own eye; and then will you see clearly to cast out the speck out of your brother’s eye.

Matt. 7:6 Do not give that which is holy to the dogs, neither cast your pearls before pigs, unless they trample them under their feet and return and attack you.

Matt. 7:7 Ask, and it will be given you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

Matt. 7:8 For everyone that asks receives; and he that seeks finds; and to him that knocks it will be opened.

Matt. 7:9 Or what man is there of you, who if his son asks bread, will he give him a stone?

Matt. 7:10 Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent?

Matt. 7:11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to them that ask Him?

Matt. 7:12 Therefore all things whatever you would that men should do to you, do even so to them: for this is the Law and the prophets!

Matt. 7:13 Enter you in at the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and spacious is the path, that leads away into the destruction, and many go into it:

Matt. 7:14 because narrow is the gate, and being constricted is the path, which leads away into the life, and few there are that acquire it.

Matt. 7:15 Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Matt. 7:16 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thorn bushes, or figs from thistles?

Matt. 7:17 Even so every good tree brings forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree brings forth evil fruit.

Matt. 7:18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

Matt. 7:19 Every tree that does not bring forth good fruit is cut down and cast into the fire.

Matt. 7:20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.

Matt. 7:21 Not everyone that says to Me, Lord, Lord, will enter into the kingdom of the heavens; but he that does the will of My Father who is in heaven.

Matt. 7:22 Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name? And in Your name have cast out demons? And in Your name done many works of power?

Matt. 7:23 And then will I declare to them, I never knew you: depart from Me, you that are working rebellion.

Matt. 7:24 Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man, which built his house on a rock:

Matt. 7:25 the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat on that house; and it did not fall: for it was built on a rock.

Matt. 7:26 And everyone that hears these sayings of Mine, and does them not, will be likened to a foolish man, who built his house on the sand:

Matt. 7:27 the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat on that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

Matt. 7:28 And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at His teaching:

Matt. 7:29 for He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.
