Mark Chapter 10
Mark 10:1 Then He arose from there and came into the borders of Judea by the farther side of the Jordan: and the people gathered to Him again; and, as He was accustomed, He taught them again.
Mark 10:2 The Pharisees came to Him, and asked Him, Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife? Tempting Him.
Mark 10:3 So He answered and said to them, what did Moses command you?
Mark 10:4 They said, Moses permitted to write a certificate of divorce, and to send her away.
Mark 10:5 Then Jesus answered and said to them, for the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept.
Mark 10:6 But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.
Mark 10:7 For this reason will a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife;
Mark 10:8 and they two will be one flesh: so then they are no more two, but one flesh.
Mark 10:9 Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.
Mark 10:10 In the house His disciples asked Him again about the same matter.
Mark 10:11 So He said to them, whoever will divorce his wife, and marry another, commits adultery against her.
Mark 10:12 And if a woman will divorce her husband, and be married to another, she commits adultery.
Mark 10:13 Then they brought young children to Him, that He should touch them: and His disciples rebuked those that brought them.
Mark 10:14 But when Jesus saw it, He was very displeased, and said to them, permit the little children to come to Me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
Mark 10:15 truthfully, I say to you, whoever will not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he will not enter in it.
Mark 10:16 So He took them up in His arms, put His hands on them, and blessed them.
Mark 10:17 When He had gone out into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to Him, and asked Him, Good Master, what should I do that I may inherit infinite life?
Mark 10:18 So Jesus said to him, why do you call Me good? There is none good but One and that is God.
Mark 10:19 You know the commandments, do not commit adultery, do not murder, do not steal, do not bear false witness, defraud not, honor your father and mother.
Mark 10:20 So he answered and said to Him, Master, all these have I kept from my youth.
Mark 10:21 Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said to him, one thing you lack: go your way, sell whatever you have, and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow Me.
Mark 10:22 But he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great wealth.
Mark 10:23 Then Jesus looked around, and said to His disciples, how with difficulty for those that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!
Mark 10:24 And the disciples were astonished at His words. But Jesus answered again, and said to them, children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!
Mark 10:25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
Mark 10:26 So they were astonished beyond measure, saying among themselves who then can be saved?
Mark 10:27 But Jesus looking on them said, with men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.
Mark 10:28 Then Peter began to say to Him, Look, we have left all, and have followed You.
Mark 10:29 So Jesus answered and said, truthfully I say to you, There is no man that has left house, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for My sake, and the gospel’s,
Mark 10:30 but he will receive a hundred-fold now in this opportune time, houses, and brothers, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, along with persecutions; and in the New Covenant Age to come; infinite life.
Mark 10:31 But many that are first will be last; and the last first.
Mark 10:32 As they were on the way going up to Jerusalem; and Jesus went before them: and they were amazed; and as they followed, they were afraid. For He took again the twelve, and began to tell them what things were about to happen to Him,
Mark 10:33 saying, behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man will be delivered to the chief priests, and to the scribes; and they will condemn Him to death, and will give Him to the nations:
Mark 10:34 they will mock Him, and will whip Him, and will spit on Him, and will kill Him: and the third day He will rise again.
Mark 10:35 Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to Him, saying, Master, we want You to do for us whatever we want.
Mark 10:36 So He said to them, what would you that I should do for you?
Mark 10:37 They said to Him, grant to us that we may sit, one on Your right hand, and the other on Your left hand, in Your glory.
Mark 10:38 But Jesus said to them, you know not what you ask: can you drink of the cup that I drink of? And be immersed with the immersion that I am immersed with?
Mark 10:39 They said to Him, we can. And Jesus said to them, you will indeed drink of the cup that I drink of; and with the immersion that I am immersed with you will be immersed:
Mark 10:40 but to sit on My right hand and on My left hand is not Mine to give; but it will be given to them for who it is prepared.
Mark 10:41 When the ten heard it, they began to be very displeased with James and John.
Mark 10:42 But Jesus called them to Him, and said to them, you know that they who are of reputation to govern over the nations exercise dominion over them; and their great ones rule over them.
Mark 10:43 But not so will it be among you: but whoever will be great among you, will be your servant:
Mark 10:44 whoever of you will be great ones, will be a slave of all.
Mark 10:45 for even the Son of man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.
Mark 10:46 Now they came to Jericho: and as He went out of Jericho with His disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging.
Mark 10:47 When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, You son of David, have mercy on me!
Mark 10:48 But many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, You son of David, have mercy on me!
Mark 10:49 So Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they called the blind man, saying to him, be of good comfort, rise; He calls you.
Mark 10:50 Then he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus.
Mark 10:51 And Jesus answered and said to him, what do you want Me to do for you? The blind man said to Him, Lord, that I might receive my sight.
Mark 10:52 So Jesus said to him, go your way; your faith has made you whole. At once he received his sight, and followed Jesus on the way.
