John 8:1 Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.
John 8:2 And early in the morning He came again into the temple, and all the people came to Him; and He sat down, and taught them.
John 8:3 Then the scribes and Pharisees brought to Him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in their midst,
John 8:4 they said to Him, Master, this woman was caught in adultery, in the very act.
John 8:5 Now Moses in the Law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what do You say?
John 8:6 They said this, tempting Him, that they might have something to accuse Him. But Jesus stooped down, and with His finger wrote on the ground, as though He heard them not.
John 8:7 So when they continued asking Him, He lifted up Himself, and said to them, he that is without sin among you, let him cast the first stone at her.
John 8:8 Again He stooped down, and wrote on the ground.
John 8:9 Then they who heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even to the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the center.
John 8:10 When Jesus had lifted up Himself, and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, woman, where are your accusers? Has anyone condemned you?
John 8:11 She said, no one, Lord. And Jesus said to her, neither do I condemn you: go, and sin no more.
John 8:12 Then Jesus spoke again to them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that follows Me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.
John 8:13 Therefore the Pharisees said to Him, You give witness about Yourself; Your witness is not authentic.
John 8:14 Jesus answered and said to them, though I give witness of Myself, yet My witness is authentic: for I know from where I came, and to where I go; but you cannot tell from where I came, and to where I go.
John 8:15 You judge after the flesh; I judge no man.
John 8:16 Yet if I judge, My judgment is genuine: for I am not alone, but I am with the Father that sent Me.
John 8:17 It is also written in your Law, that the testimony of two men is authentic.
John 8:18 I am one that gives witness of Myself, and the Father that sent Me gives witness of Me.
John 8:19 Then they said to Him, where is your Father? Jesus answered, you neither know Me, nor My Father: if you had known Me, you would have known My Father also.
John 8:20 These words Jesus spoke in the treasury, as He taught in the temple: and no man laid a hand on Him; for His hour had not yet come.
John 8:21 Then said Jesus again to them, I go my way, and you will seek Me, and will die in your sins: where I go, you cannot come.
John 8:22 Then the Jews said, will He kill Himself? Because He says, where I go, you cannot come.
John 8:23 So He said to them, you are from beneath; I am from above: you are of this world; I am not of this world.
John 8:24 Therefore I said to you, that you will die in your sins: for if you do not believe that I am, you will die in your sins.
John 8:25 Then they said to Him, who are You? And Jesus said to them, even the same that I said to you from the beginning.
John 8:26 I have many things to say and to judge of you: but He that sent Me is authentic; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard from Him.
John 8:27 They did not understand that He spoke to them of the Father.
John 8:28 Then Jesus said to them, when you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am, and that I do nothing out of Myself; but as My Father has taught Me, I speak these things.
John 8:29 and He that sent Me is with Me: the Father has not left Me alone; for I always do those things which are pleasing Him.
John 8:30 As He spoke these words, many believed in Him.
John 8:31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed in Him, if you continue in My word, then are you My disciples indeed;
John 8:32 then you will know the reality, and the reality will make you free.
John 8:33 They answered Him, we are Abraham’s offspring, and were never in bondage to anyone: how can You say, You will be made free?
John 8:34 Jesus answered them, truly, truly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is the slave of sin.
John 8:35 and the slave does not stay in the house into the New Covenant Age: but the son remains into the New Covenant Age.
John 8:36 Therefore if the Son will make you free, you will be free indeed.
John 8:37 I know that you are Abraham’s offspring; but you seek to kill Me, because My word has no place in you.
John 8:38 I speak that which I have seen with My Father: and you do that which you have seen with your father.
John 8:39 They answered and said to Him, Abraham is our father. Jesus said to them, if you were Abraham’s children, you would do the works of Abraham.
John 8:40 But now you seek to kill Me, a man that has told you the reality, which I have heard from God: Abraham did not do this.
John 8:41 You do the deeds of your father. Then they said to Him, we were not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.
John 8:42 Jesus said to them, if God were your Father, you would love Me: for I proceeded out and came from God; I did not come by Myself, but He sent Me.
John 8:43 Why do you not understand My speech? Even because you cannot hear My word.
John 8:44 You are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father you will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abides not in the reality, because there is no reality in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
John 8:45 Because I tell you the reality, you do not believe Me.
John 8:46 Which of you convicts Me of sin? If I lay out the reality, why do you not believe Me?
John 8:47 He that is of God hears God’s words: therefore you do not hear them, because you are not of God.
John 8:48 Then answered the Jews, and said to Him, are we not saying rightly that you are a Samaritan, and have a demon?
John 8:49 Jesus answered, I do not have a demon; but I honor My Father, and you dishonor Me.
John 8:50 For I do not seek My own glory: there is one that seeks and judges.
John 8:51 Truly, truly, I say to you, if a man keep My word, he will not ever in the New Covenant Age look with interest in death.
John 8:52 Then the Jews said to Him, now we know that You have a demon. Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and You say, if a man keep My word, he will not ever in the New Covenant Age taste of death.
John 8:53 Are you greater than our father Abraham, who is dead? And the prophets are dead: who do You think You are?
John 8:54 Jesus answered, if I honor Myself, My honor is nothing: it is My Father that honors Me; of who you say, that He is your God:
John 8:55 yet you have not known Him; but I know Him: and if I should say, I do not know Him, I will be a liar like you: but I know Him, and keep His word.
John 8:56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day: and he saw it, and was glad!
John 8:57 Then the Jews said to Him, You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?
John 8:58 Jesus said to them, truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am.
John 8:59 Then they took up stones to cast at Him: but Jesus concealed Himself, and went out of the temple, [going through the midst of them, and vanished.]
