Chapter 5

1st Cor.5:1 It is reported commonly that there is sexual immorality among you, and such sexual immorality as is not so much as named among the nations, that one should have his father’s wife.

1st Cor.5:2 And you are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that has done this deed might be taken away from among you.

1st Cor.5:3 For I truthfully, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that has so done this deed,

1st Cor.5:4 in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when you are gathered together, and with my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,

1st Cor.5:5 to deliver such a one to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

1st Cor.5:6 Your boasting is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump?

1st Cor.5:7 Purge out therefore the old leaven that you may be a new lump, as you are unleavened. For even Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us:

1st Cor.5:8 therefore let us celebrate the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and reality.

1st Cor.5:9 I wrote to you in a letter not to keep company with sexually immoral people.

1st Cor.5:10 Yet not altogether with the sexually immoral of this world, or with the covetous, or extortionists, or with idolaters; for then you would be required to go out of the world.

1st Cor.5:11 But now I have written to you not to keep company, if anyone that is called in the brotherhood be sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such a one do not eat.

1st Cor.5:12 For what is it to me to be judging them that are also outside? You are not judging them that are within.

1st Cor.5:13 Now they that are outside God is judging. Therefore, remove from among yourselves that malignant person.
